Researchers from Green Kitchen project attend courses related with the solution of Multi-physics Problems by Finite Elements Methods.
Researchers from the Green Kitchen Project have attended courses related with the use of finite elements methods for modeling the thermo-fluid-dynamic processes that are present in common engineering problems. The formation includes the definition of the geometry to be studied, the characterization of the properties of the materials, the meshing steps and its possibilities, the description of the physics equations, boundary conditions and source terms that are involved in the process, the solving method, including the convergence criteria, and then the post-processing of the obtained results.
An informal meeting was held on July 19th, 2012 at Politecnico di Milano, with the presence of researchers from all project partners (Politecnico di Milano, SUPSI, Wroclaw University of Technology and Whirlpool Europe S.r.l.). The following scopes were covered during the meeting: -The improvement of the relationship between different members of the project and create networking. -The discussion and the share of experiences with different parts of the project. -Providing a forum for feedback to participants on how the research is progressing. -Allowing the group to create synergy. This event has constituted an excellent opportunity to improve the Transfer of Knowledge between the components of the Green Kitchen team, as it has allowed them to share experiences, improve relationships and establish common points of interest.
On 11th–15th July 2012, the Euro Science Open Forum (ESOF) has been celebrated in Dublin. Researchers from the Green Kitchen project have attended this forum, where some of the most influential people from the world of science, society and policy were assembled. This global gathering of Nobel laureates, leading researchers, policy makers, business leaders and international media has provided a platform for debate, for influencing policy and strengthening the links between science and society. A video library of some of the conferences is available at: http://esof2012.org/livestream/.
Participation of Researchers involved in the Green Kitchen Project in the Marie Curie Actions Conference 2012 in Dublin.
On 10th-11th July 2012, the Marie Curie Actions conference was celebrated on the Convection Center of Dublin. Some of the researchers involved in the Green Kitchen project attended this instructive and interactive convention. Thanks to this meeting, and the active role played by the participants, it has been gained knowledge about what represents belonging to the Marie Curie Actions Community, the added value of researchers in European Economy, the future perspectives provided by the future Marie Curie Actions under Horizon 2020. Furthermore, this has represented an excellent opportunity to extend the scientific and personal networking with other participants
On 11th June 2012 the Mid-term Review Meeting of the Green Kitchen Project was celebrated in the Department of Innovative Technologies (DTI) at SUPSI (Manno, Switzerland). During the morning session, after an introduction of the REA Representative, the Coordinator and each Work Package Leader have presented a detailed report about the present status of each activity. Afterwards, the Researchers presented themselves and the work developed during the project. Furthermore, during some internal sessions, the REA Project Officers have met the Seconded and Recruited Researchers in order to evaluate the progress of their activities and the impact that the participation in this project may have in their future career development. Finally, an open discussion with all participants about management, financial, administrative and technical issues were carried out before the Mid-Term Review Meeting Closure.
